Beach bum!

Little Miss Adelaide, seasoned jetsetter and professional charmer, headed north a few weeks ago to visit her PA relatives. After a successful visit (no contagion, no “weather events”) with the fam, we packed the minivan (yes, the Connors still rock the Grand Caravan proudly) and headed south via Aunt Beth’s house all the way to the Outer Banks.

While the weather was a bit chilly and the beachfront was downright cold and sandblasty, the solar-heated pool and hot tub saw good use. Addie dipped her toes in the pool enough to check the “she got in the water” box.

Addie really found her sea knees on the trip. That is to say she got her crawling skillz down to an art and proudly scurried around the house, dodging family legs and hunting for any small imperfection or stray object that might prove edible.

Overall the week at the beach was great fun with the whole family. Here’s the evidence as seen from Addie eye level, mostly.

New faces

Addie has been exploring facial expressions lately. While playing today, she shared a few with me and asked to share them with you, too.

The last one seems to be her favorite face to make lately. Oh my…

Kickin’ it old school

Addie had another big adventure north to see her PA grandparents over the past few weeks. She got to sit/play in some antique furniture that her dad once used…

More photos of the trip soon to come!

New house playground

Addie told her Mom and Dad to get their butt into gear and find her a place with a swing set and slide, stat. After a whirlwind real estate search and a fast close, the family landed in southwest Austin. Addie got her swing set and slide and even a playground in her back yard! Thanks to Stephanie for letting us borrow the fun bucket seat. It’s Addie’s new outdoor home. Stay tuned for more photos at the new digs!

Bluebonnets!

Today Addie went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center just down the road from our new house. She went with her best buds of the week, Grandpa and Nana. Somehow, she stole the show and they didn’t even make it into the photos! Have a look:

“Hiking” with mom and dad

Addie went hiking with us last weekend at Bastrop State Park. Hiking through sandy trails suddenly becomes much more difficult when you’ve got a sack of potatoes strapped to your chest. Addie stayed awake the bulk of the hike and checked out everything around her.

Following the hike, we ate at Maxine’s on Main in Bastrop and Addie got to sit in her first restaurant high chair. After eating Dad’s napkin and almost flipping Mom’s sandwich basket, she settled into the back of the car for a drive through Austin.
