What a week!

Since Addie’s turned four months old, she seems to have decided she is ready to be a big girl. Not only did she roll over, she slept in her crib for the first time on Sunday night, and she did great! Steve also coaxed her first real giggle out of her. I guess it makes sense because she truly is a big girl. At her four month appointment, she was 15 pounds, 8 ounces and 25 and a half inches long, both in the 90th percentile. Only her little noggin is lagging behind at 16 and a quarter inches (60th percentile). I guess her cheeks are deceiving, because I was sure her head would be off the charts!

This weekend, my big girl and I had a night out at the lake with Aunt Jeanne, Megan and Katie.  Addie’s newfound love of bluegrass was on full display.

On the big bed

Addie spends a lot of time on our bed but it’s usually while she is with her mom nursing. She decided she was going to see what it was like to hang out on the bed by herself to prove that she’s ready for a big bed too. Here’s the results:

She agreed that she might be just a bit too small for a big bed, but maybe her crib will be more appealing this week. She’s still sleeping in her rock and play sleeper and quickly outgrowing it. Stay tuned for an episode of Cribs soon!

Four months old!

Addie turned four months old yesterday! It’s hard to believe how much she’s changed so far and it’s amazing to think how many changes the next year will bring. Addie’s not sure she’s ready to grow up yet…somehow I think the furrowed brow will stick around as she grows.

Check out our little duckling's fuzz!

Last night as I was getting ready for Addie’s last meal before bed, Steve was doing some tummy time with her. Suddenly he exclaimed (well, exclaimed in Steve terms, it was more like nonchalantly remarked), “Addie, you rolled over!” I almost didn’t believe it, given his calm tone. (You’d think I would’ve learned by now…)  But it was true! I raced in and saw her complete her second roll, tummy to back. Visions of childproofing danced in my head but couldn’t dampen my pride. What a big girl!

She seems pretty pleased with herself, right?

We head out in a few minutes for her four month appointment, so more stats are soon to come!

Thanks for the photos, Alice!
