On Driving

Quote

Mama: “Addie, next time do you want to go to yoga by yourself?”

Addie: “Mmmm, yeah, but I can’t drive myself there.”

Mama: “Well maybe I can drop you off and you can go with Cooper.”

Addie: “Yeah, Cooper* can drive me home!”

*Of course Cooper is Addie’s age.

You Say Tomato

Addie thought it was high-time she understand the present issues with the nation’s food supply firsthand so she rounded up Jamma and Daddy and headed east to Johnson’s Backyard Garden to have a look at their sustainable agricultural process. Actually she just wanted to see some cows…

There was a lot to look at including a field of just turned up potatoes, a beetle that just wouldn’t eat flowers she hand-selected for it, sunflowers “bigger than Daddy” and hot fields of tomato plants. We carted boxes, baskets and bags out into the field and tried our hand at picking a few almost ripe tomatoes in the jungle of vines. The game “drop the tomato in the bag” never got old for Addie. Good thing we’re going to make sauce…

Here’s a few pics of the action before she got tuckered out:
