Seven months old

Today is Miss Addie’s seven month birthday! Last month held lots of milestones for our little munchkin.

She became a very confident sitter…

She really got into chewing tags and strumming her lips.

She took her first trip to Kohl’s with Grandma Connor.

Her spitting up essentially stopped and she was able to stop taking Prevacid! She also learned to roll from back to belly quite proficiently, although she only likes to do it in her crib and she does NOT want to roll herself back.

She took her first pony ride! Addie continues to love the dogs. They continue to tolerate her.

She has eaten oatmeal, avocado, spinach, apple, banana, and broccoli. She definitely prefers to feed herself; she loves avocado in slices but rejects it when it’s mashed up for her.

She visited the playground in our new neighborhood and went on the swings. Note: She likes to be pushed hard. No baby pushes for Addie!

What a big girl!

Spring in Texas

Not to rub it in, Northern friends and family, but the weather here has taken a decided turn toward spring. Addie enjoyed the mild temperatures with some of her favorite activities.

She actually loves rocking, but this expression was too good to pass up.

Yesterday we got a coffee at Jo’s and Addie studied the spring fashion trends intently. She herself went for a more timeless “adorable baby” look.

We also took a trip to Central Market where she actually sported her hipster baby gear.

All in all, it was a pretty great weekend!

“Hiking” with mom and dad

Addie went hiking with us last weekend at Bastrop State Park. Hiking through sandy trails suddenly becomes much more difficult when you’ve got a sack of potatoes strapped to your chest. Addie stayed awake the bulk of the hike and checked out everything around her.

Following the hike, we ate at Maxine’s on Main in Bastrop and Addie got to sit in her first restaurant high chair. After eating Dad’s napkin and almost flipping Mom’s sandwich basket, she settled into the back of the car for a drive through Austin.

Yum!

Believe it or not, it’s pretty fun to change Addie’s diaper now. She’s very cooperative and giggly, and she  immediately assumes happy baby pose –
grabbing her feet and drawing them back.

Imagine her delight when she discovered she could explore her toes with her mouth! Two of her favorite things – her feet and chewing on things – combined? Heaven! She uses two hands to maneuver and so far, she seems to favor the left foot. Maybe she’ll be a lefty like her mama after all!
